Lauren worked with our 12/13yo ASD/PDA daughter from April 2023 until February 2024, acting as a coach/mentor through a difficult period following our daughter’s withdrawal from school. Lauren worked very gently to build a relationship of trust with our daughter, slowly helping to build connection and communication. Lauren is extremely adaptable, responding quickly and constructively to whatever state of regulation/dysregulation she is faced with. She helped to give our daughter tools to better understand her feelings and sensations, and to feel safe in communicating these to those around her. While most of the sessions focused on developing skills around self-understanding, communication, emotional regulation, thinking about the future etc, Lauren incorporated engaging and useful tutoring on maths when appropriate. The sessions were instrumental in helping our daughter reach a point where she wanted to return to school. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found someone with such a wealth of experience around the PDA profile of autism, which can be a very isolating diagnosis for children and families. I cannot recommend Lauren highly enough.

Lauren has worked with our son (ADHD/ASD with PDA) since October 21 when we sought help with extreme school refusal, and challenging behaviour in the home (12 years old at the time). She immediately worked very hard -and very effectively - to build a relationship of trust, compassion and fun with him, and she remains to this day his trusted mentor and the person we always turn to for support and help. As a family we all felt the benefit of her involvement straightaway: sibling and parent/child dynamics improved significantly for everybody, and it was a relief for us as parents to feel supported and understood in the difficult circumstances we found ourselves in. Lauren has considerable expertise and understanding of both the PDA profile of autism and ADHD and has assisted us to advocate for our son with school, always acting highly professionally and constructively with third parties. Lauren often takes the initiative in coming up with possible solutions, always consults, and gives us as parents regular, structured and constructive feedback on her sessions. Lauren also taught our son KS3 curriculum areas four afternoons a week for the first year to cover knowledge gaps due to school refusal. She has since given invaluable guidance to his home tutors as to suitable teaching techniques. Lauren has been an enormous source of expertise, support, empathy and advice for our son and our family, and we feel very fortunate to have found her when we did.

We needed help with our mildly dyslexic daughter to guide her through 11+, primarily at Consortium schools.
